Welcome.
I'm Marieke, an Amsterdam based artist, author and DJ. Through my work, I create spaces of hope, comfort and joie de vivre. I share a multi-layered story about grief, life, and living la vie en rose, using my favorite tools: music, words and dreamlike images.
A heartbreaking grief catapulted me into the depths of my being and the magical world of the invisible. Everyday, I’m in pursuit of magic and evidence of the immortality of the soul. And looking out for the sweet reminders that our loved ones are not gone.

Van 27 september tot 2 oktober organiseren Fenja Ellen en Marieke Noordanus het retreat Grief, Life, Trust. Kom naar het zuidwesten van Marokko, aan de uitlopers van het Atlasgebergte met uitzicht over de Atlantische oceaan. Vijf dagen rust, ruimte, verdieping en verstilling. Dit retreat is voor je als je iemand of iets hebt verloren. Een verlies dat je in het diepst van je ziel heeft geraakt.

Building a beautiful life after big loss. It is my big task in this life. The grief and deep pain after losing my child made me go through a big transformation. The one thing I thought would destroy me, gave me tremendous creative power. Because it showed me true love. From there, I had the courage to follow my dreams. To build a life that suits me and not one that is expected of me. My talks mix words, images and music, leaving you refreshed, moved and hopeful.
La Vie en Rose is a bundle of love, insights, wisdom, quotes on life, death, loss and eternity.
Not knowing how to handle my life, myself, my sweet family, family and friends and the future after the loss of our oldest daughter, I turned to other’s people wisdom and experiences, on- and offline. What I found struck me as very heavy hearted, bleak and gloomy. But it was already very heavy to deal with. Heavy I had. What I was searching for was hope, love, connection, comfort and solace. During ten years after the loss, I have collected all the wisdom, poems, quotes and art that has helped me survive this terrible loss and even create a new beautiful life. I hope La Vie en Rose inspires you to do the same.
